Reflections on Model 3
2018-11-13

Recently, the General Office of the Central Organization Department issued a notice titled "Notice on Seriously Doing a Good Job in the Learning and Publicity Work of the Special Program 'Model 3'". It requires grassroots party organizations and a large number of party members to watch the special program 'Model 3' together. In accordance with the spirit of the higher-level party committee's notice, the company's Party and Mass Department has notified the affiliated branches to organize party members and activists to watch the program, effectively using the theme party day activities of the party branch as a carrier, incorporating it into the activity content, sharing reflections and learning experiences, and guiding the majority of party members to align with the advanced, aspire to be virtuous, work diligently, and solidly fulfill their responsibilities.
'Reflections on Watching Model 3'
The nation needs heroes, the country needs role models. The Chinese nation has produced many heroes, and the power of role models is everywhere. After watching 'Model 3', I was deeply shocked and moved. These role models embody the spirit and sentiment of 'staying true to the original aspiration and keeping the mission in mind, innovating and dedicating'. As a Communist Party member, I must walk alongside these role models.
For decades, doing one thing without seeking fame or fortune—Song Shusheng; keeping promises, a rural doctor who has dedicated eighteen years to treating villagers—He Xinglong; bravely taking responsibility, a village party secretary who leads villagers to create happiness—Li Yuanmin; a star-chasing dreamer of the core technology of Beidou—Wang Shufang; a drug enforcement hero who is always ready to sacrifice after twenty years of life-and-death struggles—Yin Chunrong; a practitioner of the idea that green mountains and clear waters are as valuable as mountains of gold and silver—Zhu Renbin; tirelessly seeking truth, a pioneer in cutting-edge technology—Zhao Zhongxian; a group of heroes who challenge limits with their lives and measure the land with their footsteps—National Surveying Team One.
These role models are not flamboyant; they are ordinary. Yet, it is precisely in this ordinary work that they can take root, focus, and do their jobs diligently. With a spirit of responsibility and innovative ideas, they lead those around them to do their work well, creating one miracle after another. It is they who, through the strong leadership of the party organization, the loyalty and dedication of Communist Party members, and the dedication of the younger generation, pass on the fine traditions of the Communist Party of China from generation to generation.
Learning from role models means learning their spirit of being content with the ordinary, achieving success without seeking personal gain, and dedicating themselves silently for a long time. Learning from them means having the courage to take the lead, to take responsibility, and to not fear difficulties and sacrifices. To learn from role models, we must be like them, becoming Communist Party members with faith, sentiment, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to innovate. We must draw strength from role models, stay committed to our posts, strengthen our beliefs, stay true to our original aspirations, keep our missions in mind, and lead those around us to do ordinary work well, dedicating ourselves to the economic construction of the enterprise.

Reflections on Watching CCTV's 'Model 3'
In 2013, when I, as a Communist Party member, swore in front of the party flag, "I volunteer to join the Communist Party of China, abide by the party's constitution, fulfill the party's obligations, keep the party's secrets, and be ready to sacrifice everything for the party and the people, never betraying the party, the oath..." The powerful and resonant words of the oath still echo in my ears.
Whether workers, farmers, or intellectuals, regardless of their positions, only by being concerned about the interests of the country and the people, and playing the vanguard and exemplary role of the Communist Party, can one grow into an excellent Communist Party member.
In the program 'Model 3', there are rural doctors who root themselves in the countryside for the health of the people; there is engineer Wang Shufang, who is dedicated to the national navigation cause, tirelessly establishing China's Beidou navigation system, and most commendably, when the navigation system was in a critical phase, she could not fulfill her filial duty to her deceased parents; there is Zhu Renbin, the party branch secretary of Lujia Village, who abandoned business for the people, transforming a dirty and chaotic small village in Zhejiang into a beautiful and prosperous Lujia Village; there is the brave drug enforcement officer Yin Chunrong, who has brushed past death multiple times and achieved remarkable results; and there are scientists like Academician Zhao Zhongxian, who have led the world in high-temperature superconducting materials for decades, and the entire team of National Surveying Team One, who have overcome harsh weather conditions to bravely climb Mount Everest for the country's surveying cause.
Upon reflection, aren't these seemingly insignificant individuals quietly creating the future of our country?

Reflections and Insights on Watching and Learning from 'Model'
—Let role models become the force that guides us forward.
Learning from role models means staying true to our original aspirations. Putting the people at the center, seeking happiness for the people, and striving for the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is the unwavering original aspiration and mission of generations of Communist Party members. When the ninety-year-old veteran party member Song Shusheng has dedicated his life to horse research, and generations of surveying personnel from National Surveying Team One have shed blood and climbed peaks for their country, their touching stories show that it is the power of faith that keeps them true to their original aspirations, keeps their missions in mind, and cares for the masses and the motherland. From them, we see the noble qualities of excellent Communist Party members and understand the true meaning of staying true to our original aspirations. When we raise our right hands to take the oath, it is destined that we should always uphold the interests of the party and the people above all else, and at all times and in all situations, personal interests must yield to the interests of the party and the people.
Learning from role models means shouldering our mission. Serving the people wholeheartedly is the fundamental purpose of Communists, and the people's yearning for a better life is the goal of Communists' struggle. Whether it is He Xinglong, who has silently guarded the health and safety of his fellow villagers for eighteen years without seeking personal gain, or Li Yuanmin, who transformed a backward and impoverished village into a model village, or Zhu Renbin, who gave up his own business to lead villagers in building a beautiful village, these excellent Communist Party members put the collective above their own families, regard their responsibilities as a mission to serve the people, and see their posts as a stage to serve the masses. They should become role models for every party member in the new era.
Learning from role models means being courageous and responsible. The drug enforcement hero Yin Chunrong, outstanding scientist Zhao Zhongxian, and the Beidou goddess Wang Shufang all possess a strong sense of responsibility. Their conscious love for the party and dedication to the party enable them to take on responsibilities in their work, striving for national glory and the prosperity of the people. We should take them as role models, regardless of the time, position, or work we are engaged in, always remembering that our primary identity is a Communist Party member and our primary responsibility is to serve the people. In any situation, we should consciously strive to alleviate the worries of the people and solve difficulties for the country.
The new era calls for a new spirit, and noble causes need role models to lead the way. The advanced deeds showcased in 'Model' call on us to learn from them, to stay true to our original aspirations, keep our missions in mind, and make new contributions to achieving the two centenary goals.
