Reflections on Model 3
2020-10-16

Recently, the General Office of the Central Organization Department issued a notice titled "Notice on Seriously Doing a Good Job in the Learning and Promotion of the Special Program 'Model 3'". It requires grassroots party organizations and a large number of party members to watch the special program 'Model 3' together. According to the spirit of the higher-level party committee's notice, the company's Party and Mass Department has notified the affiliated branches to organize party members and activists to watch, make good use of the theme party day activities of the party branch, incorporate it into the activity content, share their thoughts and learning experiences, and guide the majority of party members to combine their positions and responsibilities, benchmark against the advanced, learn from the virtuous, strive to be proactive, and work diligently. Here are some selected reflections for readers.
Reflections on 'Model 3'
The nation needs heroes, the country needs role models. The Chinese nation has produced many heroes, and the power of role models is everywhere. After watching 'Model 3', I was deeply shocked and moved. These role models embody the spirit and sentiment of "staying true to the original aspiration, keeping the mission in mind, and innovating and dedicating". As a Communist Party member, I must walk alongside the role models.
For decades, doing one thing without seeking fame or profit—Song Shusheng; keeping promises, a rural doctor who has treated villagers for eighteen years—He Xinglong; taking responsibility, a village secretary who leads villagers to create happiness—Li Yuanmin; a star-chasing dreamer of the Beidou core technology—Wang Shufang; a drug enforcement hero who has been ready to sacrifice for twenty years—Yin Chunrong; a practitioner of the idea that green mountains and clear waters are as valuable as mountains of gold and silver—Zhu Renbin; tirelessly seeking truth, a pioneer in cutting-edge technology—Zhao Zhongxian; a group of heroes who challenge limits with their lives and measure the land with their footsteps—National Surveying Team One.
These role models are not flamboyant, but rather ordinary. Yet, they are able to take root in such ordinary work, focus, and do their jobs diligently, using a spirit of responsibility and innovative ideas to lead those around them to do good work, creating one miracle after another. It is they who, through the strong leadership of the party organization, the loyalty and dedication of Communist Party members, and the dedication of the younger generation, pass on the fine traditions of the Communist Party of China from generation to generation.
Learning from role models means learning their spirit of being content with the ordinary, achieving success without seeking personal gain, and dedicating oneself silently over the long term. Learning from them means having the courage to take the lead, to take responsibility, and not to fear difficulties and sacrifices. To learn from role models, one must be like them, a Communist Party member with faith, sentiment, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to innovate. We must draw strength from role models, stay committed to our posts, strengthen our beliefs, stay true to our original aspirations, keep our mission in mind, and lead those around us to do ordinary work well, dedicating ourselves to the economic construction of the enterprise.

Reflections on Watching CCTV's 'Model 3'
In 2013, when I, as a Communist Party member, swore in front of the party flag, "I volunteer to join the Communist Party of China, abide by the party's constitution, fulfill the party's obligations, keep the party's secrets, and be ready to sacrifice everything for the party and the people at any time, never betray the party, the oath..." The powerful and resonant words of the oath still echo in my ears.
Whether workers, farmers, or intellectuals, regardless of their positions, only by being concerned about the interests of the country and the people, and playing the vanguard and exemplary role of the Communist Party, can one grow into an excellent Communist Party member.
In the program 'Model 3', there are rural doctors who are rooted in the countryside for the health of the people; there is Wang Shufang, an engineer who is dedicated to the national navigation cause, who has established China's Beidou navigation system, and it is particularly commendable that during the critical phase of the navigation system, she could not fulfill her filial duty to her deceased parents; there is Zhu Renbin, the party branch secretary of Lujia Village, who abandoned business for the people, transforming a dirty and chaotic small village in Zhejiang into a beautiful and prosperous Lujia Village; there is the brave drug enforcement officer Yin Chunrong, who has had many close encounters with death and has achieved remarkable results; and there are the scientists like Academician Zhao Zhongxian, who have kept China's high-temperature superconducting materials at the forefront of the world for decades, and the entire team of National Surveying Team One, who have overcome harsh weather conditions to bravely climb Mount Everest for the national surveying cause.
Upon reflection, aren't these seemingly insignificant individuals on their posts creating the future of our country?

Reflections on Learning 'Model'
Let role models become the force that leads us forward
Learn from role models, never forget the original intention. Putting people at the center, seeking happiness for the people, and striving for the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is the unwavering original intention and mission of generations of Chinese Communists. When the 90-year-old veteran party member Song Shusheng dedicated his life to horse research and horse breeding, and generations of surveyors from the National Surveying Team shed blood and climbed peaks, showing patriotism and serving the country, their touching stories demonstrate that it is the power of faith that allows them to never forget their original intention, remember their mission, and care for the masses and the motherland. From them, we see the noble qualities of outstanding Communist Party members and understand the true meaning of never forgetting the original intention. The moment we raise our right hand to take the oath, it is destined that we should always uphold the interests of the Party and the people above all else, and at all times and under all circumstances, personal interests must serve the interests of the Party and the people.
Learn from role models, shoulder the mission. Serving the people wholeheartedly is the fundamental purpose of Communists, and the people's yearning for a better life is the struggle goal of Communists. Whether it is He Xinglong, who has silently guarded the health and safety of his fellow villagers for eighteen years without regard for personal gain, Li Yuanmin, who transformed a backward and impoverished village into a demonstration village, or Zhu Renbin, who gave up his own business to lead villagers in building beautiful villages, these outstanding Communist Party members put the collective above their own families, regard their responsibilities as a mission to serve the people, and see their positions as a stage to serve the masses. They should become role models for every party member in the new era.
Learn from role models, be brave to take responsibility. The drug enforcement hero Yin Chunrong, outstanding scientist Zhao Zhongxian, and the Beidou goddess Wang Shufang all possess a strong sense of responsibility, consciously loving the Party, serving the Party, which enables them to bravely take on responsibilities in their work, striving for national glory and the prosperity of the people. We should take them as examples, regardless of when, what position, or what work we are engaged in, we must always remember that our primary identity is a Communist Party member, and our primary responsibility is to serve the people, consciously solving problems for the people and the country in any situation.
A new era calls for a new spirit, and a noble cause needs role models to lead. The advanced deeds showcased in "Role Models" call on us to learn from them, to learn to never forget our original intention, remember our mission, and make new contributions to achieving the two centenary goals.
